Before you start
- Do my files really never get uploaded?
- Correct. GifBench is a static site with no backend that accepts media. Your browser reads the file with the File API and every decode, edit and encode step runs in a Web Worker on your device.
- What does the free tier actually limit?
- Exports are capped at 640px on the longest edge, 15fps and 256 colours. There is no watermark, no ad and no sign-up wall — the paid tier removes the resolution and frame-rate ceilings and unlocks the fine-grained export controls.
- Which video formats can I import?
- Whatever your browser can decode — in practice MP4 (H.264), WebM and MOV on most systems. If a file will not decode, GifBench says so up front instead of failing halfway through an export.
- Is there a subscription?
- No. Pro is a one-time purchase that keeps working on the version you bought. An optional yearly plan exists only if you want to keep receiving new features.
